In Jesus we’ve discovered the most important truth of all….Our God is a father..
The conscious acknowledgement of God as our loving Father, is the foundation for our faith.
Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.’ (John 14:6-7 NIVUK)
“Our Father.. In Heaven.. Hollowed by thy Name..”
As I pray to our Heavenly Father, I am reminded of the fatherhood of God and His everlasting, unconditional love for us.. His children! The Holy Spirit intercedes for us from deep within, crying out to our Heavenly Father!
“The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, ‘ Abba, Father.’ “(Romans 8:15 NIVUK)
The term “Father” says that God relates to us personally and in love… We call Him “Abba” (Dad) who is not remote or unavailable. He hears, knows, understands and cares for us. He is accessible! We don’t need an appointment to see Him.. Even though there are billions of people with troubles, cares, worries and fears..our Heavenly Father still has time for each one of us…He listens as if He had no one else to listen to.
God the Father seeks His children and He desires to relate to us on a personal level. [Read John 14:1-9]
We refer to God as the source of all that we have.. All that we are! As Scripture says…
“For in him we live and move and have our being.” As some of your own poets have said, “We are his offspring.” (Acts 17:28 NIVUK)
When you call God “Father,” you declare that your ultimate origin rests with him. He calms our fears, cheers us on, provides what we really need, let us go our own way but always welcomes us back!
… I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, For Whom every family in heaven and on earth is named [that Father from Whom all fatherhood takes its title and derives its name]. (Ephesians 3:14-15 AMP)
Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? (Matthew 6:26 AMP)
And I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:18 AMP)
