Time

Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity,..

..Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”

(Ephesians 5:15-17 NIVUK)

C.S. Lewis wrote.. “The future is something which everyone reaches at the rate of 60 minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is.”

Every day we decide how we spend our time.. We decide what we prioritise.. We decide what is most important to us.. You only commit to things because you choose to..so, your schedule reveals your priorities and will determine the quality of your lives..

There is no time to waste on anything that does not have meaningful, eternal value, or anything that doesn’t further our relationship with God..

There is no time to be vague.. or not fully engaged in the moment.. but we need to grasp firmly what we know to be the will of God..

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

(Matthew 6:33 NIVUK)

It is so easy nowadays to be distracted by “cyber noise”.. our phone.. Internet.. Our minds wander and we disengage from important relationships..

Let us be wise in how we spend our time and be fully present in each moment.. make intentional decisions on what is most important in your life.. Urgent does not necessarily equal important… Even if a decision carries you forward, it’s not progress if it leads you away from where you actually want to go… So meditate on God’s Word.. Spend quality, fully engaged time with God and listen to what is most important..

God.. help me to manage my time wisely… what would it mean to “make the most” of this particular opportunity..

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,..”

(Colossians 3:17 NIVUK)
